History
Mas Castells is a centenarian masía (rural house) that was renovated at the beginnings of the XX century. Nevertheless, it was until the last years of the sixties that this rural house started to be renovated within the comfort standards that characterize it today. During that decade, the family Castells Germès acquired it and started an excellent renovation of the masía, modelling a comfortable and luxurious space, with installations of current water and electricity, as it was suitable for that moment of the history.
A historical anecdote: during the thirties, Mas Castells was transformed into a public school (of Riudoms) by the Government of the Republic. This event made possible for the house to elude the bombings during the Civil War. It was one of the few schools with classes for boys and girls together.
