The Crops
The land where Mas Castells is located is used for agricultural purposes. The main orchards are of hazels, which occupy most of the 30 hectares of irrigated lands; and olive trees, from where the very oil consumed in the masía is extracted. In fact, its owners sell the products cultivated in their lands to everybody that, besides staying at Mas Castells, want to enjoy natural foods.
Right on the other side of the property, calçots and artichokes are cultivated as winter products. Those are two of the most appreciated vegetables in the markets of Tarragona, as the fine quality potatoes that are also produced at this agricultural property. During summer, this mixture and colours and flavours is complemented by the cultivation of tomatoes and peaches.
Capacity: Mas Castells
Mas Castells can lodge between 20 and 26 persons; 12 to 16 on the upper floor and 8 to 10 on the ground floor. Both houses can be rented together, for a total of 20 to 26 persons, or independently "with the keys in your hand". Thus it is possible to rent "La Casa Gran" (12 to 16 persons) and "Cal Masover" (8 to 10 persons) separately.
